Ok I'm learning a lot from this thread. Maybe I don't need the R6 II lol. The 50 1.8 did help a ton when I got it, I just want MORE Like my son's basketball indoors is still really tough.
Should I sell my X-T30 II and go full frame before I get any deeper into Fuji?

that's not a camera problem, that's the hobby. welcome

Every few weeks we get one of these, and the answer's nearly always the same: the camera you've got is fine, go and use it for another six months and you'll know exactly what's missing. Then buy for that. If it's low light, you'll know. If it's sealing, you'll know. If it's nothing, you've saved yourself two grand.
The people who buy twice are mostly the ones who bought on theory rather than on something they actually bumped into in the field. You've had the camera two months and from the sound of it you're enjoying it, which is the bit that matters.
For what it's worth I took a Zf and two small primes up Kinder Scout last weekend and still felt I'd brought too much. Weight wins every argument by about the tenth mile...
And if you do switch in the end, at least you'll have done it for a reason. Cheers
That makes sense. Follow-up question, if I stay with Fuji what lens would people actually upgrade to from the 18-55? It's not sealed either so I'd want something that is, I think. And is it silly to buy an X-T5 now if the X-T6 might come out?

16-55 II if you want the best zoom and can live with the weight. It's sealed. As for waiting for the X-T6, there's always a next one.

No. X-T5 is mature camera and prices are good used. When X-T6 is out the people who need it will sell their X-T5 even cheaper, but meanwhile you lose the time you could be using it. I bought my Z6 III more than one year after launch and did not miss anything.
Ok update on me that nobody asked for lol, I'm keeping the R50 and saving for a better lens instead. This forum is bad for my YouTube habit Thinking about the RF 28-70 f2.8, is that a good one??

Best thing anyone's said on here all month.

Not buying anything till Fuji actually announces the X-T6. Last I read it's slipped again, maybe not even this year, so I wouldn't hold your breath. I've had my X-T50 a year and honestly it does everything, I'm just impatient.
Lovely thread, and nobody's fallen out, which is a first for one of these! For what it's worth crop sensors are underrated, especially if you ever end up pointing that camera at birds on your hikes. Fuji's a great system, Quinn.
Thanks everyone, genuinely. I'm keeping the X-T30 II for now and I'm going to look for a used 16-55 (the original, the II is more than I want to spend). I'll revisit the body question next spring once I know what I'm actually missing. rawtherapist's post especially cleared a lot up for me.

Late to this but I'll say the opposite as someone who went from phone straight to a Z5 II: it's visible to me! Car shows at dusk look so much cleaner. But I don't hike 25km so ignore me lol
