Gear in this topic: Fujifilm X Half
got the x half a few weeks ago second hand. everyone online says its a gimmick but honestly ive used it more than my phone since. the film camera mode where you cant see the photos until you 'develop' them is the best part. anyone else using one or am i the only person on here lol. also does anyone know if the 2-in-1 thing can be split up again after
i have film cameras that do the same thing for £17 a roll lol. but no, if it gets you shooting its not a gimmick. half frame is great, i've got a pile of diptychs from an old olympus pen i love
It's not a gimmick if it makes you go out and shoot! That's the whole point. Half frame is just fun. I think you can split the 2-in-1 back into singles in the app but don't quote me on that.
The film camera mode is genuinely the best thing about it. Not seeing the pictures straight away changes how you shoot, you stop checking the screen after every frame and you pay attention to what's in front of you. I borrowed a friend's for a weekend in San Francisco and came back with more keepers than I usually get with my X100VI, which was a bit humbling. Grain on, shoot vertical, don't overthink it. Anyone who calls it a gimmick has probably never used one for more than five minutes! Also it's so small you'll take it everywhere, which beats any camera that sits at home. Post some in Showcase when you've got a few, I'd love to see them
