Gear in this topic: Sony A6400, E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS, 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary
Seeing the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 on sale for Black Friday at a couple of places. I have the a6400 with the 16-50 kit lens, and the 70-350 which is on the camera 90% of the time for birds at the beach. The kit lens is just... fine. Is the Sigma a REAL step up for sunsets and the grandkids indoors, or am I being sold something? I normally only buy used from KEH so buying new is a big step for me.

Best APS-C lens there is, not even joking. Night and day over the 16-50 for grandkids indoors, you get f/2.8 the whole way and its tiny. You lose 16 to 18 at the wide end and I've never once missed it. Buy it Steve
KEH will have one used in a month for less than the sale price.
Wife says Jim is right and I should WAIT. She's usually right. Going to keep an eye on KEH. Thanks both.
